A few things worth knowing

You don't need to be at breaking point. These lines are for anyone struggling, not only for emergencies. Calling early is not wasting anyone's time.

You can call about someone else. If you're worried about a friend or family member and don't know what to do, that's a valid reason to call.

If one line doesn't feel right, try another. Different services suit different people, and it's okay to hang up and call somewhere else.

Looking for ongoing support instead?

If this isn't urgent but you'd like someone to talk to regularly, a free 15 minute intro call is a low pressure place to start.

Not in crisis, but not okay either?

If you don't need a helpline but something is sitting heavily, there's a quieter place to write it down. A few gentle questions, no advice, no reply.
