Why It Matters

Most students won't walk into a counsellor's office

But they will sit in a hall and listen, and some of them will come and find you afterwards. Workshops reach the ones who would never make the first move.

📚

Exam pressure is at its peak

Board years, entrance exams and the run up to results are predictable stress points. Sessions land better when they arrive before the crisis rather than after it.

🤐

They talk to each other, not to adults

Peer conversations shape how a whole cohort understands anxiety. Giving them accurate language changes what they tell one another.

👀

Teachers spot it first

Staff notice the change in a student long before anyone refers them. Most have never been shown what to do next.

Flagship Programme

Life Skills Lab

A structured twelve month programme for every grade from 1 to 6. A full year of learning that builds, rather than a handful of disconnected assemblies.

Most life skills teaching happens in one off assemblies that children forget by the following week. Life Skills Lab is designed the other way round: a full twelve month plan for every grade, where each year revisits and deepens what came before so the learning actually holds.

Sessions are interactive rather than lecture style, using stories, activities and worksheets suited to each age group. Children this age learn by doing and by playing, not by being talked at.

Highlighted topics cover personal safety and growing up. These run through every grade, building year on year, and are delivered in an age appropriate, non frightening way.

Delivered by a psychologist, not a generalist trainer. Jaanvi Desai has over four years of experience as a school counsellor, with specialised training in child safety education including POCSO. Personal safety content in particular needs someone who knows how to handle a disclosure if one comes, and what to do next.

Exact content is mapped grade by grade with your school, so it fits your students, your calendar and your existing pastoral curriculum.

Single Sessions

What else I run

Every session is adapted to the age group and to whatever your students are actually dealing with. These are starting points, not a fixed menu.

01

Exam Stress & Academic Pressure

What stress does to memory and focus, why cramming fails, and practical techniques students can use during the exam itself. Includes the difference between useful pressure and the kind that stops you functioning.

Best for: classes 9 to 12, and college students during exam season

02

Emotional Regulation

Naming what you feel, understanding where it comes from, and what to do when it becomes overwhelming. Built around what the nervous system is actually doing, so it makes sense rather than sounding like advice.

Best for: classes 6 to 12, adaptable down to primary with play based methods

03

Peer Pressure, Comparison & Social Media

Why comparison hits harder than it used to, how social feeds distort what looks normal, and how to hold your own line without becoming isolated.

Best for: classes 8 to 12, and first year college

04

Teacher Training: Spotting Distress in the Classroom

What anxiety, depression and distress look like in a school setting, how they differ from behaviour issues, when to escalate, and what to say to a student who opens up to you. Includes your obligations under POCSO and where a teacher's role ends.

Best for: teaching staff, heads of year, counselling teams

05

Parent Sessions

How to talk to a teenager who has stopped talking, what is developmentally normal versus worth worrying about, and how to raise a concern without your child shutting down.

Best for: parent evenings, PTA sessions, admission season

06

Workplace Wellbeing

For organisations rather than schools. Burnout and its early signs, sustainable working, and manager training on recognising and responding to distress in a team.

Best for: companies, NGOs, and staff wellbeing programmes

How It Works

Format and logistics

⏱️

Duration

Single sessions run 60 to 90 minutes. Half day and full day programmes are available, and multi session series work better for younger groups.

👥

Group size

Up to 60 students works well for talks. For interactive and activity based sessions, 25 to 30 gets far better engagement.

📍

Where

In person across Mumbai, or online for larger cohorts and multi campus institutions. Travel outside Mumbai can be arranged.

What's included

A planning call beforehand so the session fits your students rather than a template. Session materials and handouts. A short written summary afterwards of themes that came up, with no individual students identified. And a follow up route for any student who wants to talk further.

Safeguarding and confidentiality

Institutions ask about this, and rightly so.

I work within your existing safeguarding policy, not around it. If a student discloses something during or after a session that raises a concern about their safety or the safety of another child, it goes to your designated safeguarding lead, in line with the POCSO Act. I will tell the student that is happening wherever it is safe to do so.

Workshops are psychoeducation, not therapy. No student is assessed, diagnosed or treated in a group setting, and nothing a student says in a session is recorded against their name. The written summary you receive describes themes across the group, never individuals.

Where a student clearly needs individual support, I will say so to your counselling team, and they can be referred either to me privately or to someone else. There is no obligation to route them to my practice.

Fees

Quoted per programme

Cost depends on format, group size, number of sessions and travel. Most single session school programmes fall between ₹18,000 and ₹35,000. Corporate and multi session programmes are quoted individually.

Working with a limited budget? Say so in your enquiry. I keep some capacity each term for government and low income schools at a reduced rate.
